Access and Location:

An exciting variety of routes is possible on Rovos Rail and all journeys are available in reverse too, whether you’d like to travel between Cape Town and Victoria Falls, Cape Town and Dar es Salaam, or even Pretoria and Walvis Bay.

Accommodation and Facilities At Rovos Rail

Each train has a dining car, a lounge car, and an observation car at the very end for community spaces. In response to customer demand, Rovos Rail has been providing two lounge cars per train since 1995! In these sections, you can find deep, plush sofas and cosy wingback chairs. Even though they’re all air conditioned, you may still open the windows and feel the fresh African breeze. On a couple of the excursions, the cars double as classrooms, and there’s a little gift shop as well. Diners may enjoy their delectable meals with a touch of vintage charm aboard the dining cars, which are decorated in a charming Victorian style. Hours of operation are as follows: breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00, lunch from 13:00, and dinner from 19:30. Just a reminder, the lounge cars or observation car are the proper locations for afternoon tea. The latter can fit a maximum of 32 people.

Royal, Deluxe, and Pullman suites are available on Rovos Rail. Half of a carriage is devoted to each Royal Suite! Roughly sixteen square meters is what this is. The classy vibe is accentuated by the wood paneling and Edwardian furniture in this category. Each air-conditioned suite features a bathroom with a bathtub, sink, shower, and flush toilet; a living area with a mini-bar and tea drawer; a writing desk; and plenty of storage space. Beds can be either twin or double. A hairdryer, a safe, a rack for baggage, adaptors, plug points, shaver plugs, dressing gowns, slippers, a laundry bag, and shoe bags are among the other facilities. The 10-square-meter Deluxe Suite is different from the others; it features a smaller living area, a luggage rack, and a shower instead of a bathroom. Lastly, the Pullman Suite (7 sq. m) features an en-suite shower room and a sofa-seat that converts into double or twin beds.
