With its many sights and activities, the Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve has quickly become one of Uganda’s most popular tourist spots, making it an ideal location for a three-day safari. Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Pian Upe wildlife reserve – evening game drive
In the morning, after a hearty meal, you will be transferred to the Pian Upe wildlife reserve. It takes about 9-10 hours to drive there via Mbale, Sironko, and the Pian Upe game reserve, with pauses for lunch and sightseeing along the way. Stop for lunch in one of the cities adjacent to the nature preserve on the way there. You can either put up your own tent close to the park headquarters or stay in one of the Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas (for a more affordable choice) or at Karamojong Overland Camp (for a more luxurious experience) for the night.
Day 2: Explore the reserve on a game drive and community tour

After breakfast, head out onto the savannah plains for a game drive in search of the reserve’s resident cheetahs, as well as zebras, hartebeests, elands, oribis, gunther’s dik diks, uganda kobs, buffaloes, blue duikers, common duikers, impalas, and the only Roan antelopes in Uganda.
