Our Trips With a Purpose: Travel that Matters

Our Trips With A Purpose are a collection of safari itineraries that include a visit to or a hands-on, immersive experience at a Positive Impact project supporting local communities, environmental work, or wildlife conservation.

All safaris scheduled through Kabira Safaris & Tours Africa raise funds for wildlife conservation, community development, and restoration of the natural world through conservation levies paid when entering national parks, game reserves, and private conservancies. These costs are included in the price of your safari with us. These Trips With a Purpose include a monetary contribution from Kabira Safaris & Tours Africa to specific Positive Impact initiatives.

If you want to engage with local communities, participate in conservation activities to protect endangered wildlife, or get your hands dirty planting trees in Africa, we have the ideal itineraries for you. Our Recommended Trips With A Purpose

Double Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park

If you’re planning a trip to Rwanda and hope to view primates in their natural habitat, you may do so by booking one of our many exciting excursions, such as the 4-day Double Gorilla trekking safari, which will allow you to trek the mountain gorillas twice and see two distinct gorilla families.

Most of our best Rwanda tours and safaris will take you to the park to see different gorilla families and visit other ecotour sites, and no one but Kabira Safaris & Tours Africa can arrange for you to have an unforgettable experience with the endangered mountain gorillas that call Volcanoes National Park home.

Gorilla Habituation Experience

Our Gorilla Habituation Experience in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

A Gorilla Habituation Experience in Uganda always begins with a (perhaps long) hike into the jungle with a team of skilled guides and scouts, searching for tracks left by the gorillas.

Finding the gorilla’s ‘nest’ from the previous night is the best indicator that you are close to a troop. Sometimes it takes as much as six hours to track down a family of gorillas. After initial contact is achieved, a visit with the gorillas can last for up to four hours. Few people have the opportunity to get as close to these incredible creatures as those who participate in a habituation program.

Those interested in helping to preserve and learn more about these gentle giants can observe the habituation of two additional gorilla families in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Serengeti Safaris

OUR SAFARI OF A LIFETIME (Serengeti Tanzania)

The Serengeti is often regarded as the continent’s premier safari location. The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest, largest, and most well-known national park, covering an area of 14,763 km2 (5,700 mi2) of rolling plains and isolated koppies (rocky hills). In addition to the annual migration of at least 2 million wildebeest, plains zebra, and gazelle, the Serengeti is also home to unusually dense populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, and other predators and has a liberating sense of space that is best experienced on an early morning balloon safari. The highlight of any vacation to Tanzania will be a safari in the Serengeti.

East African Safaris

When’s the Best Time to Go on Safari? (East Africa)

The Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, where the Great Migration occurs, are two of the most popular safari destinations in East Africa. The bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater is also teeming with wildlife. In addition to the classic Big Five and countless more features, including the presence of Earth’s last remaining population of mountain gorillas, makes this an excellent wildlife zone.

Several incredible Big Five concentrations exist in the game-rich regions of East Africa, as we’ve mentioned. At least two of these safari powerhouses are included in nearly all of our trips to the area. There are, however, a number of other possible candidates to consider. They may not be as well-known or simply be further away from the more popular highlight places, but they are excellent options for your trip nonetheless. Clients interested in visiting Tanzania’s more tranquil national parks commonly choose to visit Nyerere (previously Selous) and Ruaha in the south, while Katavi National Park in the west is really remote, difficult to approach, and stocked with big game.
