Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Arrive at Kigali International Airport, and have a COVID-19 test. Depending on the time of arrival, you will receive results the next day. You will wait for the results at a designated lodge.

Note: The COVID-19 test will be done at your cost. About 50 USD each. Apply for the test online via https://travel.rbc.gov.rw/selfreg/ prior to the start of the trip. Please also follow all the protocols by the government on COVID-19 as they will be listed.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After receiving the test results (will depend on when the results are returned) transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive in the evening and check-in at the hotel.

Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, go for golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, you will then have a community tour or visit the caves. Later on, return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park and have a canopy walk

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park and have a canopy walk experience in Nyungwe in the afternoon. Check in at a nearby hotel and spend the night.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe

Have a chimpanzee trekking experience in the Nyungwe forest and transfer back to the previous lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to the Gisenyi border

From Nyungwe, check out of the hotel after breakfast and transfer to the Gisenyi border of Congo.

Day 7: Transfer to Nyiragongo Volcano for the hike

You will be transferred to the Grand Barriere in Congo where the Virunga National Park guide will pick up for transfer the Nyiragongo Volcano for the hike.

Day 8: Nyiragongo descent and transfer to Uganda

Early morning, summit the top of the Nyiragongo volcano and enjoy the great views of the active volcano. After the experience, you will then descend from the volcano and be transferred to the border by the park guides. From the border, your guide will pick you up for a transfer to the Kyanika border where you cross over to Uganda and spend the night in Kisoro town.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for gorilla trekking with one of the most charming gorilla families remaining in the wild. Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and have an island tour by boat. Later check-in at your hotel.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector for a game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions then later head to the northern sector through Maramagambo forest.

Day 11: Game drive and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

Morning game drive in search of the game like the serval cats, bushbucks, giant forest hogs, and many more than later do an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel for more aquatic and semi-aquatic life like Nile crocodiles, hippopotamus, Nile monitor lizards, and many birds along the shores. After that, you will take a short transfer to the world’s primate capital (Kibale Forest National Park).

Day 12: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

Morning chimpanzee trekking then returns to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon do the Bigodi swamp walk and cultural experience.

Day 13: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Morning breakfast then later embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park, and if time allows you can do a short evening game drive exposing you to animals like African elephants, lots of Uganda Kobs, Deffasa waterbucks, Oribis, and the world’s fastest monkey (Patas monkey) and much more.

Day 14: Game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison Falls

Have breakfast at hotel then head out for a morning game drive in search for the cats in action like the lions, leopards, and more scavengers like hyenas, side stripped jackals among others. Later return to the hotel and have lunch in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls on the mighty River Nile. You still can opt for a short game drive as you enjoy the evening sunset.

Day 15: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight

Have breakfast at leisure and then leave Murchison Falls National Park in and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight.
