Safari by day Itinerary: 12 Days Luxury Rwanda Flying Safari

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport

Kabira Safaris’ guide will pick you up from the Kigali International Airport upon your arrival, inform you about the 12 Days Luxury Rwanda Flying Safari, and then drive you to the Kigali Marriott Hotel, where you will check-in, eat supper, and spend the night.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Akagera National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll go on a tour of Kigali City, where you’ll stop by the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and discover more about Rwandan history. Then, after lunch, you’ll take a scenic drive to Akagera National Park. On a private boat excursion, you will witness a variety of birds and aquatic creatures while taking in the scenery around Lake Ihema. After that, you’ll travel to Magashi Camp, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Wildlife Game Drive in Akagera National Park


Experience Akagera National Park, Rwanda

Have breakfast early and then visit the park headquarters for a behind-the-scenes briefing about the history of the park, the creation of the conservancy, and animals. After that, a local ranger will take you on a wildlife game drive safari across the park so you can see wild animals and birdlife in the northern area. after dinner, head back to Magashi Camp to spend the night.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park

After a cup of coffee in the morning, you will accompany a local ranger on a morning wildlife drive across Akagera National Park’s northern plains. After returning to the inn, you’ll eat breakfast and check out. You will then return to the north portion of the country on another game drive with a local ranger to view wildlife (Picnic lunch included). After dinner, travel to Karenge Bush Camp to spend the night.

Day 5: Heilcopter Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, board a VIP helicopter for a trip to Nyungwe National Park. Once you get to the One & Only Nyungwe residence, you’ll check-in and eat lunch. At the lodge, unwind in the afternoon. You can participate in on-site activities like a bike tour, conservation walk, conservation boot camp, secrets of African tea, and hilltop archery. Eat dinner and stay the night.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe National Park

Breakfast in the morning, then go to the park office to meet your neighborhood ranger and receive training. To find the chimpanzees in the jungle, you will journey through the forest with a native ranger and porters. After lunch, head back to the resort before visiting a tea estate, where you can sample some tea and have high tea.

Day 7: Canopy Walk Experience and Helicopter Transfer to Musanze

Following an early breakfast, you will go to Uwinka Park where you may enjoy a two-hour stroll through the forest and discover the 90-meter-long canopy bridge. Afterward, take a helicopter to Volcanoes National Park after lunch at the Lodge. Get there in plenty of time for dinner and a night’s stay at One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Eat breakfast early before traveling to the Volcanoes National Park offices for the briefing. The gorillas will then be tracked by you as you enter the forest; once you find them, you will have up to an hour to observe and take pictures of them. The One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge will provide lunch before you visit the Gorilla Guardian settlement. At the lodge, unwind in the afternoon. Eat dinner and stay the night.

Day 9: Golden monkey Trekking – Transfer to Lake Kivu

After eating breakfast early in the morning, you will be taken to the Volcanoes National Park offices for a briefing on the Golden Monkey Trekking. After that, you’ll head into the jungle to look for golden monkeys. You will go to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi after your hike. Spend the afternoon lounging on the beach after eating lunch at the Kivu Serena Hotel. The Kivu Serena Hotel will serve as your dining and lodging for the night.

Day 10: Lake Kivu beach – Rubavu

After a leisurely breakfast, explore Gisenyi City on a walking tour. Take a break for lunch at Paradis Malahides, then spend the afternoon kayaking on Lake Kivu. Return to the Kivu Serena Hotel for a campfire by the lake and performances from a cultural troupe. Eat dinner and stay the night.

Day 11: Transfer to Kigali

You will have lunch at Khana Khazana before taking a beautiful journey to Kigali City after your morning meal. You can go shopping in the afternoon at CAPLAKI Village and Kimironko Market. Dinner will be served at Ubumwe Grande Hotel, and you will spend the night there.

Day 12: Departure

After a morning meal, you will be driven to Kigali International Airport in preparation for your departure.
